What is the Tipping Comp?

The Tipping Competition is the main and overarching competition that facilitates both the Teams Comp and Dally M Medal. The Tipping Competition is managed using ESPN FootyTips and allows you to create a free account. The overall winner of the Tipping Comp get their name etched on the Josephine Garrard Memorial trophy.

How do I join the Tipping Comp?

The Tipping Competition is managed using ESPN FootyTips and allows you to create a free account. Once you've created an account and are logged in, the link to join our comp is https://www.footytips.com.au/comps/garrardsgold?p=garrardsgold

If you're a new member, you will need to request the password via the contact us page or directly to the administrator.

How much does the competition cost and how much can I win?

The entry fee is $25 and prize money is awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd (dollar amount will be determined after the registration period is closed)​

When does the competition start and end?

The competition starts Round 1 and finishes Grand Final day. ​

 

How many points do I get for a correct pick and are their bonus points?

One point is awarded for a correct selection. An additional bonus point is awarded for correctly picking a full round (a round is determined by FootyTips). Bonus points are active for the entire competition, including all rounds throughout the finals.​

What if I forget to submit tips?

If no tips are submitted, you receive the lowest comp score for the round. This will only affect people who don't enter any tips for the round. If you partially tip a round, you will receive zero points for any missed tips.

Who's Josephine Garrard?

Josephine was my late grandmother, who always looked forward to the Footy Tipping Competition. I have many memories of my grandmother sitting in her armchair talking about footy and discussing her weekly tips. This trophy is in her memory and will always be a reminder of some great memories.
